Gay Olympic icon, Tom Daley, 13 years into his Olympic games career has finally brought home (to the UK) his life long dream of gold.

Daley, 27, who competed in his first games at the mere age of 14 in the Beijing 2008 Olympics, weeped on the long awaited top podium in Tokyo.

Daley and his synchronised swimming partner, Matty Lee, beat Chinese team Cao Yuan and Chen Aisen by less than one point.

As thrilled as he was at the win, it will never be his biggest prize, after his win, he told Out Magazine, 'I've always said that this is a great metal to win but my biggest metal is waiting for me at home - my son and my husband - so I'm very excited to get back to them'.
